Note: The vineyard was planted in the 1950s and is dry grown. Shiraz, Clare Valley, single site. Around 30% whole bunch, sent to used oak barrels.
'Lighter shade of Clare Valley. Brighter too. Sniffs of fresh tobacco, red berries, dried plums, maraschino cherries. Sweet, slightly savoury start. Slick in the palate, cool, on a sleek ride through to its longish, sweetish finish. Some Xmas cakey richness, but not too much, crisp acidity, fine silty tannins. Those tannins do a good job of control and shape. Airy, fleshy feel in the mouth, easy to drink, enough structure for interest. High drinkability and interest.'
